Alternate Earth

Some alternate versions of planet Earth.

This mod is not trying to be lore friendly in any way, but if we’re going to talk about lore then we already have alternate versions of the universe in the game so it stands to reason that their are alternate versions of planet Earth that didn’t suffer the same fate as the story we are told (although who knows if that is what actually happened anyway, maybe something else happened? maybe the Earth survived/recovered? maybe it was covered up for some unknown reason? :D), but if it is an alternate version of planet Earth then the real question is what is it doing in this universe and how did it get here?? The main reason for this mod however is because I like playing with the landscape to create something that I find visually pleasing and enjoy wandering around in, something I spent more time doing in Fallout 4 than playing the actual game! 😀

Several versions available, mostly green, lush, and thriving environments for the main biome, the frozen biome is still frozen but with different variations for each version. I’m working on some other versions which include more arid and barren environments.

All versions have a breathable atmosphere, various flora and fauna, as well as the possibility for human activity. I have also added a selection of planetery traits to keep things interesting whilst exploring the landscape. Water is safe and toxic/corrosive gas vents have been removed. It’s a mostly peaceful non-hostile environment for relaxed wandering and exploring 🙂

Versions available so far.

Alternate Earth 01 Main Biome – Forest, mostly Conferous trees with ferns and leafy shrubs, a variety of grasses and groundcover.
Alternate Earth 02 Main Biome – Forest, mostly Oak trees with ferns and leafy shrubs, a variety of grasses and groundcover.
Alternate Earth 03 Main biome – Savanna, Aleppo Pine trees, some Acacia, shrubs, and a variety of grasses and groundcover.
Alternate Earth 04 Main Biome – Hills, Sycamore trees, leafy shrubs, and a variety of grasses and groundcover.

Biome name doesn’t always represent the finished visual appearance, it’s just the biome type used as a base before editing, some are more edited than others.

Thanks to Aurreth for modding resources which provided the planet data used for this mod.

As xEdit is still an experimental version these esm’s should also be considered experimental, make sure you take a back up of your saves just in case and use at your own risk. These esm’s are made to have fun with, the impact and consequences on save games are unknown at this stage, what works now may change in the future, especially once Creation Kit releases for Starfield.

Install as you would any other esm mod, If you haven’t modded your game yet then check out one of the many guides available on how to enable modding for your game. You’ll need Plugins.txt Enabler if you haven’t got it already, don’t use sTestFile in your ini’s to load plugins.

Usual rules apply regarding uninstalling plugins and messing with load orders mid game, don’t do it unless you want to risk issues and corrupted saves. Although swapping out one of these plugins for a different version (eg. 01 for 02) is probably ok as long as load order doesn’t change, probably.
