Starfield: Ship Stats

Starfield ship customization stats cover the following core aspects of design:

  • LAS (Laser damage)
  • BAL (Ballistic damage)
  • MSL (Missile damage)
  • Hull
  • Shield
  • Cargo
  • Crew
  • Jump Range (Light Years)
  • Mobility
  • Top Speed
  • Mass

Hull and Shield essentially represent health bars for your ship, while Cargo indicates the storage capacity on board. Jump Range determines the distance you can travel between star systems, and Mobility and Top Speed influence flight performance. Some stats are less obvious, but LAS, BAL, and MSL likely represent weapon and damage types, specifically Laser, Ballistic, and Missile.

There are also a few more ambiguous stats. Some modules, such as cockpits and habitats, include Crew stats, but it is unclear whether they require a crew to operate or simply limit the number of occupants. Mass, on the other hand, is a component of every module in Starfield. Adding new parts increases mass while reducing Jump Range and Mobility, implying that a heavier ship will be more challenging to maneuver.
