Optimization using A.I. to create textures with better performance trying not to lose the level of detail.

Yes, there are already other mods that resize textures to try to improve the game’s performance. No, that’s not what I want here. I didn’t throw the textures into something “mod-o-matic” to resize while having a coffee. I create mods as a hobby, and decided to test my artificial intelligence to generate the game’s textures using performance algorithms, texel density, filters, and other gadgets.

In short, this is the result of my A.I test subject and I decided to share it, because despite having a RIG, I wanted to be able to play it on my weak laptop, and I was surprised by the performance improvement. It might not be useful for anyone with a powerful RIG, but it will certainly help a lot of people who have a low end computer and want to enjoy the game.

This is the first release, and maybe you’ll find some ugly texture or something. Please report what you find, I’ll try to fix it!

In this mod are all Constellation and OldMars Textures.

I’ll be posting other texture mods for other objects (ships, setdressing, actors…) but I’m releasing them separately because it takes time to do so, so I’ve divided the textures in the game by subject, and because it’ll be easier for me to support and identify bugs.
When there are no more bugs, I will release a single mod containing all optimized textures.
