Better Performance and Visual Clarity for Low Settings

Features (all changes are applied to the “Low” in-game graphics preset):
– Lowers shadow resolutions (by quite a bit for some shadows)
– Lowers reflection array size (this doesn’t impact visuals as much as lowering the resolution of them would, but improves performance about the same as cutting the res in half)
– Increases grass culling factor (makes grass disappear more often so the game doesn’t have to render it), and slightly lowers grass radius
– Disables Motion Blur
– Reduces Ambient Occlusion
– Reduces crowds slightly
– Retains the default FSR 50% scaling
– Disables the “HalfResIndirectLighting” option to increase the image sharpness

Installation:
– Read all of this before proceeding if you don’t know what you’re doing
– Extract to your game directory on your SSD (for Steam, this should be something like “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield”… For Xbox Store versions (including Gamepass), this should be something like “C:\XboxGames\Starfield\Content”)
– You should make a backup of your “Low.ini” file in the game directory before extracting… I personally just renamed mine to “oldLow.ini”
– After launching game, change the preset to something besides low, then change it back to low… Then you can tweak settings from there if you like (if you want Motion Blur turned on or different res scaling, for example)…

Uninstallation:
– Delete the “Low.ini” file from your game directory, then restore your backup of the original
– If you forgot to backup your original file, you can find it on This Mod Page (thanks to u/E3roKK)

Version History:
v1.0 – Initial release
v1.2 – Fixed crashing issues when talking to some NPCs (or on some hardware)
