Conner’s Ordinary Conversations – Seek Out Stores

Citizens of cities will give directions to vendors & other POI. All major locations in all major cities are covered. Adds over a hundred new dialogue lines.

Conner’s Ordinary Conversations: Seek Out Stores
No map? No problem. Use COCSOS. Citizens in all 4 major cities (New ATL, Neon, Akila, Cydonia) will provide directions to locations within each city. After asking for directions, you will receive an activity with a quest marker to the destination. All vendors and major points of interest are covered. Never get lost in a city again. Immersively navigate the sprawl of starfield’s cities with COCSOS.

Conceptually similar to “Ask The Way” for Skyrim. And Daggerfall, as I’ve heard.
Citizens in different cities have different voicelines to demonstrate their “temperament” – New Atlantis is the friendliest, while Cydonia citizens are very irritable. More voiceline variety will be added in future updates.

There are two versions of the mod. The standard version does exactly what is said on the tin. Conner’s Cut adds a few lighthearted dialogue lines that trigger on citizens. The new dialogue is ironic and whimsical, but not outlandish enough to take you out of the game. The chance of triggering chatter is pretty small (5-10%), so it should not be distracting or overbearing. Use this version if you enjoy Conner’s Overtly Comedic Style Of Self-awareness. See the video at the bottom of the page for an example of the dialogue in Conner’s Cut.

Sibling Of Skeever
COCSOS is a sibling of spirit to wSkeever’s Seek out Stores, which has since officially seen publication. Through a stroke of serendipity, both of us converged on a similar mod idea and although we worked on the mods independently, we sent our support to each other as needed so optimal speed in mod creation could be achieved. Both mods were really difficult to make for us as we each had to make over a hundred new quests, so please endorse both our SOSes as a Show Of Support.

My Seek Out Stores lets you talk to citizens to get directions, while wSkeever’s Seek Out Stores lets you navigate the city via terminal kiosks.
Both mods are mutually complementary and it is highly recommended to use SOS with SOS. But wait, there is more…

Introducing… COCSOS
COCSOS is not just a mod, COCSOS is part of a greater project called COCSOS.
Conner’s Ordinary Conversations – Social Overhaul Suite.
COCSOS is a series of simple mods that seek to add new dialogue to the same old starfield to offer new means of interacting with the NPCs in the gameworld.
COCSOS is an idea. It is an idea that Citizens of Cities Should Openly Socialize.

The planned mods for the COCSOS series are as follows:
Seek Out Stores <-you are here
Sale of Substances – Sell drugs to npcs
Selflessly Offer Stuff – Donate money to npcs
Stories of Strangers – Idle chat with citizens.

All COCSOS mods will be compatible with other COCSOS mods, and they are intended to be used together for the optimal COCSOS experience. However, COCSOS will be fully modular so that users have the Choice Of Carefully Selecting Only Specific COCSOS plugins.

The Conner’s Cut version of Seek Out Stores offers a Sample Of Style you can expect from Stories of Strangers.

This video depicts Chatter Of Citizen Sulking Over Sea – a scene of speech added in Conner’s Cut. Expect this to be the tone of new dialogue added in Conner’s Cut of COCSOS.

Installation:
Nukem Plugin.txt Enabler required, as usual
-Archive Invalidation required, as usual
-MO2 is currently recommended for easy installation, as manual and Vortex installations pose their own unique issues.
-Mod Organizer was so good that they had to make Mod Organizer 2. If manual installation was better than mo2, there would be a Manual Installation 2. There is no Manual Installation 2.
-Delete all ESP plugins because they are hacky plugins not made with proper tools. You should only have esms.
-This mod is compatible with everything. Does not edit vanilla records.

Plugin Name: COCSOS – Seek Out Stores.esm

Uninstalling this mod comes with an asterisk. This mod is internally massive (over 1000+ records), so Chance Of Creating Save Obliteration Scenario is present if you uninstall midgame. It might be safe to stop using this mod if you proceed to NG+ immediately afterwards, as NG+ effectively seems to start a newgame.
