Faster Weapon Reloads (incl. Instant Option)

Speed up weapon reload animations globally. Multiple speed variants for you to choose from. Doesn’t rely on console commands, INI edits, or script extenders.

<<< FEATURES >>>
Do you consider the game’s weapon reload animations too slow? Is the Microgun’s spin up speed way too slow? Either way, this mod provides a bunch of options for you to customize your gameplay experience with those animations.
The mod comes in a convenient FOMOD installer. That allows to easily install the various speed multipliers and swap between them.

Available animation speed multipliers:
x1.25
x1.25 + Microgun Instant Fire
x1.5
x1.5 + Microgun Instant Fire
x1.75
x1.75 + Microgun Instant Fire
x2.0
x2.0 + Microgun Instant Fire
x2.5
x2.5 + Microgun Instant Fire
x3.0
x3.0 + Microgun Instant Fire
x4.0
x4.0 + Microgun Instant Fire
x5.0
x5.0 + Microgun Instant Fire
Instant Reload
Instant Reload + Microgun Instant Fire

The speed multiplier applies globally. That means that it applies to e.g. a Rattler the same as to the Beowulf. If you just want to speed up specific reloads individually then this isn’t the mod for you.

If you just want the Microgun instant firing then you can find it here: Microgun Instant Spin Up and Fire Animation

< MANUAL INSTALL >
If you intend to install the files manually feel free to do so but be aware that I won’t provide any assistance/support in this instance. More information on that topic can be found in this Modding Wiki article (Manual Installation section). There are also instructions created by user ViniRust, to be found in the Forums section.

< FIRST-TIME SETUP >
When installing any mod that contains loose assets, like this one, you have to make sure that Archive Invalidation is enabled in your game’s INI (settings) file. This is how it is achieved:

– Go to the following folder:
..\Documents\My Games\Starfield
– If that folder doesn’t contain a file with the name “StarfieldCustom.ini” yet then create it.
– Open “StarfieldCustom.ini” with a text editor of your choice (e.g. Notepad++).
– Add the following part to the file’s content, if it isn’t present already:
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
– Save your changes and close the text editor.

<<< COMPATIBILITY >>>
Any variant of this mod will conflict with other mods that also make changes to the following animation files:

..\meshes\animtextdata\tables\graphs\gunactions.agx

That means that this mod is incompatible with my other weapon animation mod Weapon Equip (and Unequip) Animation Speed. If you want both mods to work alongside each other you have to merge their changes. A useful open-source tool for that purpose is WinMerge. Some mod managers come with the same toolset built in or offer it as an extension so you don’t have to install another separate tool.

<<< FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS >>>
Does this mod disable achievements?
No, it does not.

Is it possible to switch from one variant to another?
Yes, it is. Just reinstall the mod and select different options from the FOMOD installer.

Is it safe to uninstall mid-playthrough?
Yes, it is. This mod only contains loose assets and nothing related to them is baked into your save.

Will you add a comparison video for the different speed options?
No, I’m not interested in doing that – which would involve updating it every time I release a little update for the mod. Feel free to create one. You can even link to it directly in this mod page’s video section.
