Realistic Water
Realistic Water provides improved water textures for Starfield (from the Realistic Water Two team).
From the same team that provided WATER and Realistic Water Two mods for Skyrim and the WET mod for Fallout 4, Realistic Water is a water overhaul for Starfield. Since Starfield modding hasn’t even had its morning tea yet, we’re currently only including textures. The following is what has been covered thus far:
Improved Wave Textures – these wave textures affect almost anywhere there are wave patterns on water (NA pools, oceans, etc.). It’s hard to capture compare shots of wave patterns. Nonetheless, RW waves textures are similar to vanilla in design, but more subtle; providing smaller, smoother waves. This feature will be improved upon once CK2/xEdit/Nifskope are released and we can do more than texture edits.
Future Plans
Though it’s still early to be making concrete plans, we will say that this mod will likely cover the same scope as Realistic Water Two does for Skyrim. This means custom effects, meshes, particles, water features, waterTypes, etc. We can’t do much more than texture editing until all the tools are fully released, but we plan to continue to expand upon these textures with updates. We’ve dumped over 100 water related files from the game so users can expect much more in of Realistic Water in the starfield.
The above plans are stated with a very large “if needed/if possible” attached. Again, we still in very early stages or modding and learning a new game!
Installation
The installation of files is currently a bit of an unknown going forward. Though the circumstances are known, the community is still waiting to see what Bethesda fixes and the direction mod manager developer go. Until this becomes more solidified, please install the mod to the following location:
