Starfield Early Access: Details & Dates
Starfield launches on September 6. However, for those impatient to dive into Bethesda’s newest epic, Early Access offers a chance to play five days earlier. This move aligns with other major game releases like Diablo 4. Pre-ordering certain premium editions lets you begin your journey early. Below is all you need to know about Starfield’s Early Access.
When Does Starfield Early Access Begin?
Bethesda mentions “up to five days” earlier playtime, but this may vary based on your purchase date, possible server outages, and time zones. In simpler terms, anticipate starting your galactic journey around September 1 in most regions. Note: Starfield doesn’t need a constant online connection; potential outages likely relate to Steam or Xbox app issues during installation or validation.
How to Access Starfield Early?
For Starfield’s Early Access, you need the Premium Edition (either physical or digital) or the Constellation edition (exclusively physical). The Premium Edition costs $100, offering a story expansion, skin pack, digital artbook, and soundtrack. The $300 Constellation edition provides the same plus physical collectibles. The $70 Standard Edition doesn’t include Early Access, nor does the Game Pass version.
Although Xbox suggests separate Premium Edition content purchasing, its current status on the Xbox app is unclear about buying just the upgrade for Early Access.
Is It Cool to Have Starfield Early Access?
While I can’t vouch for everyone, I’d say you’re cool for reading this far! I might wait for Bethesda to fix any potential initial issues. Ultimately, the choice is yours.
